Lake Erie wind farm feasible

The final feasibility study released today for building an experimental wind turbine farm off Cleveland’s lakeshore shows funding and getting governmental approval are the remaining obstacles. Supporters believe the completed project could generate thousands of wind turbine-related jobs for the region. WKSU’s Kevin Niedermier reports.

Committed to implementing nuke deal: Obama administration

The Barack Obama administration has asserted its commitment towards implementing the India-United States civilian nuclear agreement, a landmark foreign policy achievement by the previous George W Bush government. The US Department of Energy on Thursday issued a statement, following the conclusion of a three-day meeting of the ‘US-India Civil Nuclear Energy Working Group’.

Kensington cancels wind farm

KENSINGTON – Council here has shelved a plan to erect a $5-million wind farm. At its monthly meeting, Kensington town council reviewed a feasibility study compiled by Gorman Controls on a 10-unit 100-kilowatt turbine wind farm.

World’s Largest Solar Power Tower Starts Generating in Spain

, April 30, 2009 (ENS) - Abengoa Solar has begun commercial operation of the giant new PS20 solar power tower located at the Solucar Platform, near Seville. With a generating capacity of 20 megawatts, the new power tower will produce enough solar energy to supply 10,000 homes.
